I have tried a different gear ratio. It ...Hey mike. I have tried a different gear ratio. It wasn't out of choice, and i ended up with higher engine revs and poor performance. The stock bike runs a 16 tooth front and 42 tooth rear sprocket, and this setup works incredible well. Great low range power and cruising a 5,500rpms. You can achieve higher MPG and run at a higher speed with lower engine revs. May have to slip the clutch at first with all the weight though.
